My Story of Traveling Solo
I first traveled alone at a very young age when I was only 10 years old. Technically, I was not alone by myself, I was part of a group of children traveling to a summer camp in another country, but I traveled there without my parents with people I didn’t know. At first, it was very scary, however in the end I did have a great time and gained my first experience traveling alone. My second experience of traveling solo was at the age of 21, when I left home to move to study in Finland. I ended up spending 3 years there and during that time I met amazing people, saw aurora borealis and gained lifelong experience which shaped my strong character and will. If you haven’t traveled alone yet, hopefully, my list of 100 travel solo quotes will encourage and inspire you to take the leap and start traveling solo.

What are Advantages and Disadvantages of Traveling Solo
Freedom – Traveling solo allows you to make your own plans and schedules and change them as you wish without feeling bad about it. If you travel with other people, you have to adjust to their schedule and availability.
Making new friends with locals– Ironically, when you travel alone the chances are much higher that you will meet awesome people on the way and make friends. People are generally more open to talking to a person traveling alone than to a large group of tourists.
Less time for planning – When I travel with a group of friends, we spend a lot of time discussing which hotel we want to stay, where we want to go. Different people have different travel budgets and different levels of fitness. That’s why the larger the group you travel with, the more time you will spend discussing basic things and planning everything in advance. On the other hand, when you travel alone, you can spend much less time on planning and be more flexible.
There are so many benefits of traveling alone. If I list all of them, I could easily publish a whole book. So I decided to stick to just the top 3 in my list. I personally love being alone by myself and connecting to my inner self a lot. If you love hiking, check out my favorite hiking quotes.
Some disadvantages of traveling alone include higher cost of travel and more responsibility.
When you travel alone you usually can’t share the costs of accommodation, a rental car and so on with your friends. So overall it might cost you more to travel alone. It also requires a higher level of responsibility because there will be nobody to guide you or to plan things for you.
Conclusion
Solo travel is much more than just traveling alone. It is a lifestyle and a conscious choice that takes courage and inner strength. It can be a very rewarding life experience that will change your life and make you stronger.
